Yokos, right now I need to hear five words from you. Uh, I’ll never do that again. Hello there. Uh, so today we’re going to be doing uh something a little different. My name is Paul, by the way. Welcome to the Loisirs vers le soleil YouTube channel. And as I said, it’s going to be slightly different. Um, Atelier Jeux just launched 11th edition. That is the Armageddon box that you’ve been hearing so much about just last month. And odds are you’re building a Space Marine in front of you right now.

At least if you do Warhammer anyway. Uh so to be honest, just we’re going to build a Space Marine, too. So grab your Armageddon box or any other space marines in your pile and just build with us. No sanding. I think minimal sanding maybe, but honestly, no sanding for the most part for this video. um it would take way too long and I only have a shift to do this. [laughter] So yeah, let’s get to it. As always, I’d just like to quickly point out that every single product shown in this video is available on our website right now, sunwardhobbies.ca, including Armageddon, but we’re going to sell out very soon.

We only have a few left. Uh so look forward to the intro sets uh that’s going to last us the next 3 years because essentially those are just the boneless versions of the launch Armageddon box. Here it is the back of the Armageddon box. The miniature we will be building today. It’s a very simple

What mini are we working on?

intercessor. Basically we’re going to try to build the guy in the box right there. Yeah. So he is what is essentially the old firstborn tactical marine. at least the Primaris equivalent to it, even though they haven’t outright said it. That’s basically what they are. Uh the jack of all trades Marines, but uh brand new for 11th edition. Yeah, essentially one of these schmucks right here. We will be building them because I won’t be doing any sanding today. I’ll be using Tamiya’s 74035. This is

the sharp pointed side cutter. Excellent for when you kind of don’t want to sand or don’t have the time to sand. one of their best in my opinion. And of course, I’ll be using the GOAT, the LeBron of Cements, Tamiya Extra Thin. What else am I going to be using? Revell cements. Guys, it’s 2026. Regarding Tamiya Extra Thin and other plastic cements, these guys are basically the lifeblood of the hobby, but they’re extremely dangerous. Do not sniff them. They will cause headaches. That’s not a joke. So, grab your instruction manual and the relevant sprue and let’s get to building. All right. So,

Sprue Snipping

to get started on building your first space marine or just Space Marines in general, you really only need two things. You need cement. Uh, so everyone prefers Tamiya Extra Thin. Where would we be without it? And then the second one, of course, is a side cutter or a sprue cutter, depending on the brand. It’s the same exact thing. Um, they just [music] call it different things. Anyway, so that’s the only really two things you need as tools, but there is a third and that would be sanding.

Whether it’s sanding sticks, strips, sheets, whatever, um, or even the needles uh are incredibly useful, but incredibly time consuming, but [music] to be honest, if you’re army painting, like these schmucks that I’m doing, none of them are characters. Average viewing [music] distance for miniatures is like what, 3 ft like from above, like at a table [music] when you’re looking down, 2 to 3 ft. And from that distance, you will never see anything.

Push Fits

Now, let’s get back to what separates these Marines from the [music] standard marines you would get like those rectangular boxes, the standard model kits, right? Uh standalone. Uh these are called push fits because this is basically a launch box to start off a new edition. They are catering to a brand new audience and thus they need to be push fit. So there is no need for cement. So again, Marines aren’t [music] difficult. You only need two things, right? You only need a nipper and cement.

Technically, three with sanding. But what I’m saying is marines in and of itself is not difficult. In fact, quite easy. As you can see, it’s very easy to build a lot, but then get overwhelmed in the painting [music] aspect of it. But regardless of that, what I’m saying is take it one Marine, one miniature at a time. It’s easy to get burned out. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. If you’re a beginner, which I’m assuming a lot of you are, take it one miniature at a time. The Marines aren’t going anywhere. Make sure you do not regret [music] your $300 purchase. That’s a decent amount of money, especially in this day and age. So, yeah, take it one step at a time. Do not be Icorus and go close to the sun, right? Moderation is key. Uh, these Marines are easy, but the difficulty comes in army painting.

Completed Minis

And here we go. The Beatles are all here. Unlike real life, I did not miss the Fab 4. They are here. They are assembled. Uh the four marines. Again, comment down below if you want me to paint them in a certain way, certain chapter, certain legion, certain color scheme, even doesn’t even have to be lore compliant. [music] Let me know. But the reason I’m going to say this right now, it doesn’t have a base is personal preference. I prefer to [music] make the base first and then super glue the marine on top.

So yeah, these are Marines and again [music] they’re the tactical marines rip the old firstborn kit, but they replaced it [music] essentially with these new ones. Again, they have not admitted it, but that’s basically what they are. These are going to be the new age tactical marines or sorry Primaris Tactical Marines. They’re gorgeous, you know. Final Thoughts

one’s a bit more experimental with the voice over, the sped up footage, right? But yeah, overall it’s just to introduce beginners to the world of 40k, especially on the marine side where it’s undoubtedly more popular than the Orcs. The orcs [music] are of course very popular, but what you learn from the Marines can be applied not just to the Orcs, but to any other faction [music] in Warhammer and others. Honestly, even the traditional model kits, snobbery aside, they’re the same.
