The Panzer IV was developed in the first months of the 2nd World War to equip the German armored forces with a vehicle equipped with a 7.5 cm gun. and equipped with greater protection, given the limitations of the previous model III with a 5 cm. weapon, against the threat of enemy vehicles, in particular the Soviet T 34s equipped with a weapon of that caliber and with good armor. The tank model IV was extensively used by the German Army on all fronts throughout the 2nd World War and in numerous variants progressively upgraded to cope with the constant improvement of the enemy vehicles.
