Kick Started the Era of Classic Muscle Cars

The race for horsepower began in America in the fifties, but the car that really kickstarted the era of classic muscle cars was arguably the 1964 Pontiac GTO. The GTO combined Pontiac’s muscular 389-cubic-inch V8 with its lightest car, the redesigned, midsize ’64 Tempest LeMans. This easy-to-build 1:24 scale Revell 2’n1 kit features some of the car’s best-remembered factory features, including the triple two-barrel “tri-power” carburetors, a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual exhaust. Building instructions are included, so that skilled builders can convert the two-door “Post” coupé body into a hardtop. Optional road parts include a second bonnet, which has been cut out to accommodate the chrome-plated blower with two four-cylinder fans and intake manifolds.
