Built upon the robust M10A1 chassis with its powerful 450hp gasoline engine, the M36’s distinctive open-top turret and formidable 90mm gun gave Allied forces the edge they desperately needed. First deployed on the Franco-German border in October 1944, over 1,000 M36s across 21 battalions spearheaded the Allied advance until victory in May 1945.
