The Story
Oleris III is a world that belongs to the dead. Five centuries ago, a Chaos plague ravaged this planet, transforming it into an endless necropolis of tombs and bone-filled catacombs. The living abandoned it long ago. But when an inquisitor goes missing in the labyrinthine ossuary tunnels beneath the surface, the Imperium sends the only soldiers capable of completing such a grim mission: the Death Korps of Krieg.
Colonel Graven leads the 401st Regiment into the darkness with characteristic Krieg determination. Their objective is simple: find the inquisitor, no matter the cost. But in the twisting tunnels filled with the bones of billions, the kill team encounters something far worse than they anticipated. The dead are stirring. Whispering specters emerge from the shadows, seeding fear and suspicion among warriors trained to know neither emotion.
As the mission deteriorates, allies begin turning on each other. Trust evaporates in an environment where every shadow might conceal a threat and every whisper might be the voice of Chaos corruption. For Colonel Graven, the external horrors mirror his internal struggle. Haunted by a personal tragedy of his own making, he cannot afford to trust anyone – not his subordinates, not his fellow officers, perhaps not even himself.
The Death Korps are legendary for their resolve, willing to accept any sacrifice to achieve their objectives. But on Oleris III, in tunnels where the boundary between life and death has grown dangerously thin, even the most disciplined Korpsman might begin to doubt. And in this nightmare realm, doubt is the first step toward damnation.

From the Community:
The faceless regiments of the Death Korps of Krieg are unrelenting in their pursuit of victory, and they’ll need to double down on their die-hard determination in The Relentless Dead by Steve Lyons – the next Death Korps novel after Dead Men Walking captured the bleak horror of life in a Krieg trench line.
Colonel Graven of the 401st Krieg Regiment has been tasked with finding a missing inquisitor in an endless warren of bone caverns wracked by Chaos plagues, but the dead are stirring, and down in the labyrinthine darkness his kill team comes face to face with unspeakable horrors. Adding to it all, the colonel has ghosts of his own to battle, and his lingering doubt could be the death of him.
