SKU: vallejo-mecha-varnish Category:

Description

Varnishes
The varnishes have been formulated especially for airbrushing. Drying is very fast and does not leave fingerprints (“no tack”). Varnishes can be applied directly or diluted with distilled water or Thinner 71.261. In some cases, a layer of varnish is enough but if more layers are required, an interval of 5 minutes is suggested between each coat. Once protected by the varnish, the colors resist the application of oils, glazes, and even pure turpentine and light washes with alcohol.

Available in: 17ml, 60ml, 200ml

Safety / Toxicity
Mecha Colors has the following international safety certificates: EN71-3:2013 and ASTM D-4236. These independent certifications guarantee that no harmful substances are used which could pose a risk to the health of both the user and the environment.

Vallejo Mecha Varnish

My Go-To Acrylic Varnish

This is my go to for acrylic varnish. It takes a while to cure and may not seem that strong at first, but after a few days I can vouch for models being much more scratch resistant. I also tried another brand of matt and found it had a fogging effect, Mecha matt may not be 100% matt but it's good enough and won't eff your paint job. Apply in multiple thin coats, not too thick at once.

Matt is always out of stock for some reason. Need more Matt!

Best Acrylic Varnish

I use this as a final top coat on acrylic painted plastic models. It is exceptional quality and there is simply no better acrylic vanish available. It's so good, you may have trouble getting this, especially the matt vanish. If you see it available in stock, you should buy it quick before it's gone! It dries quickly but it's best if left at least 24 hours to cure before handling the model.

Better than expected!

First time user for Vallejo products. Always been with Tamiya for airbrushing and Citadel for hand brushing. Really happy I finally pulled the trigger! It's much much better than what I was expecting. I really recommend their "Mecha" line of products. Still need to get used to their primers but it's just a matter of time. Great Varnish! 👍
