Spare change. [music] Hello all. This is David from Loisirs vers le soleil. In today’s tough times, it seems like we all need 10 side hustles just to get by. What if I told you that the thing you love to do, you can make money on? That’s right. You can make money by making models. Allow me to explain.

Intro

In our hobby, there are those of us who feel we are so good at what we do that we can make a couple extra bucks by exploiting our talents. So, in today’s video, I’m going to highlight [music] three different ways that you can make money by building models. So, let’s start earning.

Method 1

Method number one, the old-fashioned way, commission. [music] Believe it or not, there are some fat cats out there who are so lazy that they [music] would pay you to build a model for them. Take action on [music] their inaction. Charge them the price of the kit and whatever rate you feel you are worth. Full disclaimer, however, packaging a completed model is an elusive art that very few people have mastered. Something always breaks. It doesn’t matter what you package it with. Styrofoam, cotton, newspaper, or toilet paper. No matter how much care you take, there’s always a loose antenna or a landing gear leg rummaging around the box. But if you can figure out a way to package your model perfectly, your clients will love you. Who would have thought that being homeless would be so itchy?

Method 2

Method number two is YouTube monetization. Like many other communities out there, there is an audience for people who like to watch stale models being built. And there are some people out there who are getting some pretty decent engagement from it. guys like Plasmo, Night Shift Boy, Hobby Time, Bruise and Bruise, After Hours Hobby, and [music] Loisirs vers le soleil. Guys like these get uh thousands, sometimes even hundreds of thousands of views, which equates to a pretty decent income. But first, there are some requirements that need to be met before you can start earning. You need 1,000 subscribers and over 4,000 watch hours in a year or 10 million shorts views in 3 months.

Then once you’ve reached that milestone, you’re free to start putting those ads that we all love, especially the non-skippable ones in your videos. And before long, you’re making bank. And one more bit of advice, be consistent. Try to upload content at least once a week because if your audience gets even the slightest hint that you’ve stopped creating, they’ll abandon you faster than your woman after you told her that you just bought a $1,000 kit. Well, two down, one more to go. But before the last one, enjoy this ad.

Method 3

And the third and final method to making money is writing articles for Loisirs vers le soleil. That’s right. We’ll pay you to write articles for our website’s blog post. So, if you just happen to be building a model kit that we sell, why not write about it? Tell us how the kit is, your own construction methods, and if you recommend it. Just send us an email info@sunwardhobbies.ca. Tell us that you’d like to build this kit and write an article about it. Then you can discuss rates with management and once the article is complete, you’ll be making the monies.

Let me be clear, we only like build articles, okay? We don’t want reviews of the box art or reviews of your hobby chair. just build articles would be nice. As you could see, we’re living in a time where there’s all kinds of ways to earn income. It’s just that most of

those ways aren’t enough to make a living. But hey, it’s not like we’re in a recession. In conclusion, yes indeed, you can make money off of your hobby. And isn’t [music] that the dream?
