Description

Launched on 7th May 1765, HMS Victory gained its fame by becoming Admiral Nelson’s flagship during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The victory at this battle ended Napoleon’s bid for mastery of the sea, but cost Admiral Nelson his life.

She had previously taken part in many major actions against Spanish and French fleets, and is now the oldest serving Royal Naval ship still in service, being the flagship of Portsmouth Command.

After being restored to the same condition and appearance as she was at Trafalgar, she can now be seen in all her glory at her home in Portsmouth by visitors from all over the world.

the kit was bought as a christmas gift for my oldest son. i really like it as well and will get one for myself in the New Year. i currently possess the Airfix kit of the Wasa. excellent detail but i will need help with the rigging. i was pleasantly surprised by the speed of the delivery and will gladly order for Sunward again. i also like 1/72 armour

Amazing kit!

This is a large and very detailed kit of a famous warship. I tried building it when I was a kid and it was one of my favourites, but I really wasn’t able to do it justice. I am very pleased that Airfix still offers it and am looking forward to adding rigging etc this time.
