Build our renewed in 2023 and beautiful model ship at 1:20 scale called Saint-Malo, a French Doris from the late 19th Century. Its simple construction system and easy rigging building make it ideal for beginners in naval modelling. Now, it gives you an improved assembly experience that is much easier and more enjoyable!
The naval model kit with the ship contains all the necessary parts to build the faithful miniature replica. It is made up of wooden plywood plates cut by a high-precision laser to be able to extract the parts without any problem. It also comes with a set of wooden strips, veneers and round rods, with accessories in die-cast, brass and wood and with one sticker. It also brings a magnificent set of hand-sewn cotton sails ready to be placed and cotton thread. As a bonus, beautiful wooden exhibition base to assemble with the nameplate of the boat.
For the assembly, you can follow an excellent and very complete step-by-step guide made on video by our modellers. As if it were an exclusive master class, we teach you how to build your model. You will enjoy the hobby of ship modelling even more and learn professional techniques. All you have to do is visit our Youtube Channel -click here- where you can find all the recorded video tutorials. The kit comes with a printed plan of the finished boat and a list of parts. It does not contain printed instructions.
Once it is built, this faithful miniature replica measures 13.58” (345mm) in length, 3.54” (90mm) in width and 8.66” (220mm) in height.

HISTORY OF FRENCH DORIS SAINT-MALO
Discover the 2023 wooden model ship of the French Doris Saint-Malo. This Canadian fishing boat was used on the Massachusetts and Nova Scotia schooners, but lately it was introduced in France, Spain and Portugal.
The ship type Doris was transported on its mother ship, usually a schooner. On its roof, the Doris travelled stacked and were used by one or two crew on the cod banks of Newfoundland to fish.
During the day, they returned to the mother ship several times to unload their catches. Due to their strength, low cost and ease of stowage, the Doris continued to be used as working boats on sailboats and pleasure ships.
Assembly and painting required. Kit does not include model cement glue, paint, and tools. Adult supervision where required.
