Description

The Dark Skin Set from the Squidmar Color range contains four coordinated acrylic paints in 18ml bottles for dark skin with warm undertones. These themed sets offer a compact introduction to a specific technique, material, or skin type and an affordable way to explore the new Squidmar Color formulations.

Squidmar Color was developed from the ground up by Vallejo together with Emil Nyström and Lukas Holmström of Squidmar Miniatures: strong contrast, intuitive mixing, controlled transitions and high saturation.

Tips for use

• The four colors are arranged in a sequence: from the darkest shadow color to the brightest highlight.
• Start with the medium tone as the base color and gradually work out the shadows and highlights.
• Intermediate shades are created by mixing adjacent colors from the set.
• All colors can be purchased individually and are part of the Squidmar Color System.

Squidmar Color – Acrylic paints

The 48 acrylic colors form the foundation of Squidmar Color. The selection wasn’t compiled to fill a color wheel, but rather to provide colors with a clear purpose and predictable mixing behavior. Intensity and opacity support everything from opaque underpainting to highlights, shadows, gradients, and glazes. The tones are coordinated to ensure clean mixes without loss of saturation.

Squidmar Color – Metallic

The seven metallic colors bring Vallejo’s experience from developing the True Metallic Metal system to Squidmar Color. They offer fine particles, excellent coverage, and a clearly defined finish. They can be used neat, mixed together, or combined with inks and acrylics to create color variations, shadows, and reflections.

Squidmar Color – Fluorescent

The five fluorescent colors are formulated for maximum luminosity at key focal points: magical effects, energy, weapons, markings, and army details. They work not only when applied directly, but also as an additive or glaze to enhance the luminosity of other colors.

Squidmar Color – Ink

The twelve inks were developed around the painting style of Emil and Lukas. With a completely new formulation, they offer controlled saturation, even application, and outstanding performance with glazes and color blends. They intensify a color, filter a surface, create colored shadows, tint metallics, or enrich transitions without obscuring the work underneath – the natural evolution of Vallejo Game Color Inks.
