Keep An Eye On This One!

The Comanche -3 is a rocket that has been in Estes' lineup since the 80's. Nothing has changed except for the new paint scheme. At first I didn't like it but has since grown on me. The construction is pretty basic with no surprises. The trickiest part, I think, is to perfectly align the fins between all three stages. Go light with the fin glue at first just in case the alignment is off and repositioning is needed. Priming/Painting is pretty straightforward with little masking needed. There is a reason the recommended colours are yellow, orange and red. This rocket goes high on all three stages and the bright colours help to make it visible. Two stage and single stage flights are also possible for smaller fields. I suggest flying single stage a few times to get used to how this rocket performs before using multiple stages. To improved chances of recovery fly only in clear, calm conditions with the biggest field you can have permission to use. A bigger field is always better. It also helps to have several friends act as spotters during launch. Good luck and have fun with this rocket!
