Description

This water-based coating varnish is intended for use on surfaces which have been painted with a gloss finish, enhancing the luster and also helping to prevent unsightly fingerprints being imprinted on the surface.
Features:

  • Helps to mask small abrasions and scratches on the surface.
  • It is particularly effective when used with darker colors, bringing out a rich depth.
  • Can be applied simply using a cloth.
  • The 10ml contents will be enough to apply a superb finish to a good number of models (roughly fifteen 1/24 scale models).

Did not know what to expect.

This product sounded like it was worth a try and maybe a good alternative to a gloss coat which can cause issues with decals. I was expecting a liquid on the thick side as the term varnish would suggest but the viscosity is like water. When applied to a cloth it soaks in immediately so more remains on the cloth than is applied to the model. So I applied directly to the model and buffed immediately. The shine did not improve from that obtained by the final application of the Tamiya 'Finish' polishing compound. I also compared it to the Tamiya Modeling Wax which produced a shinier finish. All in all a product I will not order again.
