Description
The USS Enterprise (CV-6) was a Yorktown-class aircraft carrier built for the United States Navy in the 1930s. It was the seventh U.S. Navy ship of that name. Launched in 1936, it was one of only three American aircraft carriers to survive the war. By the end of the war, its aircraft and guns had shot down 911 enemy aircraft, sunk 71 ships, and damaged or destroyed 192 more.
