Description

The Boeing B-17 became synonymous with heavily armed strategic bombers in World War II. The Boeing B-17F was the first flying fortress to be mass-produced. The most famous machine from this series was a B-17F, which was delivered on July 15, 1942 and put into service at the 324th Bomber Squadron in England. The crew gave it the name Memphis Belle after the friend of the pilot Lt. Robert K. Morgan. Her fame came from the fact that she officially survived 25 missions as the first US Army Air Force bomber in Europe and became the star of a Hollywood propaganda film. After this mission, the Memphis Belle and her crew were ordered to the United States. It was later bought by the city of Memphis and erected in the open air as a memorial. A total of 12

Mail Carrier?

I have not assembled yet, but I am considering completing to Canadian service which was as a mail carrier in WWII. The model looks great in the box and service from Sunward was excellent.
