Description
The HMS Dreadnought is considered to be the ancestor of all battleships of the 20th century. When it was commissioned in 1906, it was so revolutionary because of its armament with heavy artillery of only one caliber (30.5 cm) that not only a class of ships in the Royal Navy was named after it, but that “dreadnought” was the generic term for all major naval powers Battleship with this armament was also known as “all big gun one caliber”.
