Description

This 1/24 scale model kit recreates the classic Super Seven kit car. The Super 7 is a legendary kit car that has spawned legions of fans since its release in 1957, and lives on today, manufactured by Caterham. Lotus developed and sold Seven cars first, however, and the enhanced Super 7 version of the car was powered by a 4-cylinder 1.3-liter Ford Cosworth engine, achieving a top speed of over 160km/h. Simple yet effective designs such as rack and pinon steering and drum brakes made its assembly accessible to the home constructor.

Features:
1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 139mm, width: 61mm.
Features a realistic recreation of the Ford Cosworth engine under the opening hood.
Redesigned Decals and seat belt stickers.
C Parts are now molded in white for easier painting.
Choose whether to assemble as a road car, or a Clubman racer (with dedicated racing screens and roll bar).

Scale: 1/24

Assembly and painting required. Kit does not include model cement glue, paint, and tools. Adult supervision where required.

Contents subject to change. Price includes in store coupon.

Kit-Car Kit

So far I've opened the box and scanned the instructions (personal use only)- already 2 hours of entertainment as I spun my mind around the various options and features of the cleanly moulded sprues. And, made the connection between the kit and kit-car. The vehicle could be bought in sub-assemblies and assembled at home- like the kit which ably represents what you might find in a garage...24 times as big. This is a re-release of the kit which now includes a photo-etch sheet and 4 delightful turned aluminum carb intakes- very simple additions which will add to the overall effect. Models of modern sports vehicles are way more enclosed (and many are curbside style) but this open roadster needs finishing inside and out- again simple systems and parts breakdown will make great fun. It's a lifer so it won't be anytime soon before it's finished- I'll keep you posted...hoping to cut plastic in early September....
