Description
A highly specialized model guillotine whose base, body and most of the moving parts are made of anodized red-colored aluminum. On the other hand, the mat, which is the working area of the presented tool, has a square shape, and its total dimensions are 90 mm by 90 mm, with the actual working surface being 80 mm by 80 mm. It was made of solid PVC. Thanks to the three-layer structure, it can be freely cut in the course of modeling work, without the risk of permanent damage.
The mat was also printed with a grid composed of squares with a side of 5 mm. The total weight of the tool is about 730 g. Its two elements on the sides, which are attached to the base with screws with black plastic caps, allow you to work at angles from 0 to 45 degrees and marked angles of aperture: 15, 22.5, 30 and 45 degrees. On the right side of the presented guillotine, there is also an aluminum slider (also attached to the base with a screw), which enables the precise seating of “straight” cut materials. Of course, the slider can be moved and adjusted to the desired length.
The tool uses specialized 0.3mm razor blades for most jobs and 0.25mm blades for precision jobs. Of course, the blades can be changed on the guillotine arm using an Allen key. The presented tool is characterized by very high quality and precision. The latter is guaranteed by the use of Computerized Numerical Control Machines (CNC Machines) in the production process. The presented modeling guillotine also shows a very good fit of the elements and their mutual adjustment to each other. It also uses generally simple but very effective design solutions. It is also characterized by very high ergonomics and great durability. RP Toolz emphasizes that with proper use and maintenance it can serve for many years! It allows you to cut materials such as polystyrene, styrene, thin wood and various other soft modeling materials.
Related products are for example: The manufacturer recommends working with materials with a thickness of 0.1 to 2 mm, but in practice, you can also cut ABS modeling profiles with a square cross-section and a thickness of 5 mm without any problems. Undoubtedly, the presented tool may turn out to be very useful in the workshop of many modellers who create wooden or plastic miniatures. What’s more, thanks to its quality, it will serve for many years.
