May 18 Update
As the sagas have foretold, the Space Wolves have arrived with an Army Set containing 28 brand-new miniatures, a Codex Supplement for the Great Companies of Fenris, a set of datasheet cards, and a new transfer sheet.
Leading the charge are a pair of fearsome battle brothers: a Wolf Guard Battle Leader with a heap of customisation options and a Wolf Priest, one of the Chapter’s spiritual shamans.
They are followed by three Wolf Guard Headtakers, elite warriors accompanied by their Hunting Wolves. Then there are 10 Blood Claws, the youngest and most impetuous of the Space Wolves, let loose under the watchful eyes of 10 Grey Hunters, who have learned over the years to rein in their most savage impulses.
The box also includes a 104-page Codex Supplement: Space Wolves, which is packed with pages of lore, art, miniatures photography, and rules for leading the Sons of Russ into battle on the tabletop. This version features gold foil on the cover and page edges, a black ribbon page marker, and fabulous exclusive cover art.
On top of that, 25 datasheet cards cover all the units in the Codex Supplement, plus the Combat Patrol datasheets and your Army Rule, while a new transfer sheet with 419 decals is also supplied. This set is available while stocks last.
Initial Community Post
The Sons of Russ howl into the stars once more – for Armageddon stands on the brink, and the Space Wolves rise to its defence once more.
The wolves of Fenris are strapping on their pelts and roaring into action with a wide range of new miniatures, just some of which you can find in the upcoming Space Wolves Army Set. This is also the first place you’ll be able to get their new Codex, with a special cover dripping with Fenrisian style.
Blood Claws
The impetuous Blood Claws are neophytes who cut their teeth as assault troops. Where other Chapters temper new recruits in Scout Companies, the Space Wolves prefer to channel this youthful aggression into vicious close quarters assault.
Grey Hunters
Once they’ve worked out their natural ferocity and earned a modicum of discipline, they are assigned to a Grey Hunters pack. These more experienced troops carry lighter bolt carbines into battle so they can fire on the move, always closing on their foe until they can get into close combat.
Wolf Guard Headtakers
The Wolf Guard are the Chapter’s greatest veteran warriors, who can fulfill a variety of roles – including wearing precious suits of Terminator armour. Some are selected as Headtakers, especially those who retain their youthful energy, charging down the toughest foes with packs of loyal wolf companions.
Wolf Guard Battle Leader
Wolf Guard Battle Leaders are field commanders who hold roughly the same rank and duties as the Lieutenants of the more Codex-compliant Chapters. They can take a range of weaponry and come with various cosmetic options.
Wolf Priest
The duties of both Chaplains and Apothecaries are handled by sombre Wolf Priests, who form a vital part of the Space Wolves’ cultural hierarchy both as storytellers and healers. They are terrifying to behold on the battlefield, booming excerpts from great sagas over the dim of battle while glaring out from behind their chilling wolf skull helmets.
All of these miniatures are included in the new Army Set alongside a freshly updated Codex: Space Wolves, packed with background lore, miniatures galleries, and datasheets for 20 unique units.
More troops will be marching from the frosty halls of Fenris before the Space Wolves are done, but that’s a saga for another day. In the meantime, head back to our reveals hub to see what else we’re showing off today – including a new campaign book that brings the Space Wolves back to Armageddon.
